We kicked off the Thanksgiving week celebration with a dinner at church. It was a potluck with both the english speaking and spanish speaking congregations from our church. This was our second annual Thanksgiving dinner at Valley Baptist. Our good friend Marcus was able to do the music in both languages and my dad was the featured speaker. Marcus did the music at our wedding and is an excellent worship leader and singing with him is always a treat. My dad did a great job with his self translation, which is way harder than it looks.
My parents, Maria and Michael, Ann and Elena came up to celebrate with us. I didn't take too many pictures, as I was too busy having fun, but I did get a couple pictures of Elizabeth and hanging out with her Uncle Mike. My brother Michael has "the touch" when it comes to babies. He was the one person who could consistently put Grace to sleep when she was little (and believe me, that was not easy to do). We affectionately call him "The baby Whisperer."
Sweet Auntie Ann got in on some of the picture taking action.Although I am not exactly sure why babies get along so well with Michael, it could be his calm presence, or maybe it is becuase he is able to mimic their facial expressions so well.
