Over the hills and through the woods, to Grandmothers house we go- Part I

This week Gunnar, Grace and I have the privilege of going on a little trip. We went to go see my Grandma and Grandpa, who live in central California. We left Tuesday and came home Friday. Due to the TON of pictures I took, and my exhaustion and lack of motivation at the moment I thought I would share with you some pictures from the first two days of our trip. I will post the others when I am more motivated and less tired. :)

The first night we stayed just north of LA on the grapevine in a little place called Labec. We have stayed at this hotel before, and it makes for a great stopping place mid way. To my surprise there was still snow on the ground from a couple days before.

Grace LOVED my grandparents house. There were people to give her constant attention, new things to explore, and farm animals. What else could a girl wish for. She was super cute, giving my grandma hugs and kisses.

When we got there they had gotten Grace some Christmas presents. There were two little books dealing with the senses and body parts.

The biggest hit was an adorable red leather chair and a ginger bread doll. She loved the chair and looked so cute sitting in it. The doll I wanted to name Ginger, but she insisted the babies name was Jesse. I have no idea why she picked that name, as she doesn't really know any Jesse's. Seeing as I am not clear on the gender of the ginger bread person I guess Jesse works well because it could go either way. My grandma had made the doll years ago, I think it is so special that Grace is able to enjoy playing with it.
Grace and Grandpa enjoyed a jello snack together. I don't think Grandma knew what she was starting as for the next day and a half Grace kept asking for more "ello"
My grandparents have three horses and a bunch of cows that Grace fell in love with. She got to pet a horse for the first time, and she loved it. Grandpa had to give the horse some medicine because he had cut his let, which made a huge impression on her as she has been talking about it ever since.

My Uncle Russell is my dad's younger brother. He is big and burly and pretty much I spent most of my life afraid he would tickle me. Grace was a big shy when he first got there, but he offered her some olives off her pizza and next thing we knew he was her new best friend. She was very sad when he had to go home. This morning I was talking to her about her trip and when I asked her who she saw she said she saw "cute Russell".

Grace was fascinated by Grandma's cane (she actually is a fan of canes in general, but usually she isn't allowed to play with them). She was so excited to walk around the house carrying it. She reminded me of little bow peep.
That night we spent the night at my Aunt Jan's. Grace slept on an air mattress. The first night she woke up a lot, but by the second night she had sleeping in a big girl bed down like a pro. :)
That pretty much covers Tuesday and Wednesday. :) We had a great time seeing family and enjoying time together.
