Fun with Friends and Family

Last week Grace and I spent the week down at my parents as Gunnar was in Kansas City for school. While he was working hard in the freezing snow, Grace and I enjoyed the sunshine and spending time with people we love.

We were able to spend a lot of time with family and friends we haven't seen in a while. Monday we saw my Great Aunt Marian, her daughter Sandy (my moms cousin) and my Aunt Joan. Unfortunantly, Marian had a doctors appointment, so we weren't able to spend too much time there, but we were able to hang out with my Aunt Joan. She lives in beautiful Mission Hills, and since it was a beautiful day we walked around the neighborhood and ate at a little deli. It was one of the places where people would walk in and say "I'll have the regular, Pete".Spending time with Great Great Aunt Marian
At the Deli and on our walk with Grandma, Aunt Joan and "Dutches"

We also were able to have dinner with my mother-in-law Carol. We went to Panera (my favorite). I love hanging out and hearing how my child is the smartest, prettiest, nicest, well behaved child around, so I always enjoy getting together with Carol. :)Of course we spent lots of time with my parents and siblings. I especially enjoyed seeing my brother Daniel, as he is so busy I don't usually see him very often. Grace enjoyed eating breakfast with the college kids before they would head out to school. The one day Daniel was eating breakfast, she just went and held his hand. It was really cute. We were able to hang out with Ann and Michael a couple times. She loved eating fruit with Grandpa (they are both big fruit lovers) and enjoyed having "a little cookie break" with Grandma. Hummm, I think I notice a trend there.....We also were able to spend lots of time with friends. It was so nice to connect with friends that I have not seen in a while. I was able to connect with my friends Marcia and Coree. They are both sweet spiritually minded girls who are always an encouragement and a blessing. Marcia is one of the very first friends I made in San Diego and has been a blessing to know for the last 10 years! She just got engaged so it was exciting to see how God has provided a husband for her. Coree is one of those friends who always has something God has been doing in her life. It always is inspiring and encouraging to hang out with a friend who takes her walk with God so spiritually. And did I mention she is also really fun?I also was able to spend a lot of time with my fellow mom friends from my Chapel days. I went to Bible Study Tuesday night, Mom's day at the Park on Wednesday morning and Chollas Lake with Kacey and her girls on Thursday. I think Grace enjoyed being around kids her own age, although I think she was a bit unsure what to do at first, since it isn't something she is around that often.
Lastly, She enjoyed seeing Dulce and Guapo at Grandmas.
